Society of St. Stephen is an ecumenical outreach ministry that is grounded in First United Methodist Church Lindale and is associated with the St. Stephen Society of the Texas Annual Conference.  There are currently 12 area churches actively involved in this ministry

About the David Powell Food Pantry

What started in a small cabinet of canned goods and clothing behind his desk to offer visitors in need, grew into the We Care Thrift Store - Lindale and the development of what was later named the David Powell Community Food Pantry of Lindale, Texas.

The Society of St Stephen (EIN: 81-4906987) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that, through the David Powell Food Pantry, provides thousands of pounds of food to more than 350 families within the geographic boundaries of the Lindale, Texas Independent School District. In addition to food distribution, the Society of St. Stephen provides additional programs serve our community’s health needs.
